Mankind’s Relationship with Vanity and Self Authority

Reflections on what’s required to become self authorized

Man wishes to validate his opinion of himself, but uses others to do so.

Because of his relationship with authority — dating back eons — man subjugates his opinion of himself to that of others.

He therefore casts a false opinion of himself, one that inflates, in order to control the opinion others have of him.

This is error predicated on error.

All we require is authorizing ourself. Which is like saying go walk across a high wire.

What’s needed is an internal locus of power to get on the rope, presence to stay the course, courage to get back on when one inevitably falls, and compassion to realize the consequences of staying on the ground.
